Help - Overdrawn Directors Loan Advice | 03/10/2014
Like many of the people on here I am going to cease trading and apply to voluntary liquidate my company (sole person) but would appreciate any comments and suggestions. I can't afford my latest Corp Tax (£12000) and and I have just found out from my 'virtual' accountant that the directors loan stands at £19000.I have spoke to an IP (fees are £5000+vat) and basically been told that I will have to pay around £14000 (£19000-£5000) over a fixed term to the liquidators and not the Corp...

"Off Site" Payment Processors | 03/10/2014
I want a way to accept card payments but u want the customer to get redirected to the payment processors site to do so. This is so I don't have to get involved in all the PCI compliance stuff involved with accepting credit card payments directly on my own site.
Ones I know about:
Preferably one like the above that do not have monthly fees, but take a percentage off each transaction.
Are there any others?
Are there any university undergraduate degrees that allow you to start your own business? | 03/10/2014
I'm in my first year of college studying business, law, accountancy and economics. I'm 17 and live in Manchester. I've always wanted to be an entrepreneur/self employed and I at first thought getting a university degree would be a waste of time but I was wondering whether there are any courses/undergraduate degrees that allow you to start your own business?
Any mechanical engineers here | 03/10/2014
I am looking at some new machinery I need for my new venture. Its a nut grinder. The machinery is too expensive here in the UK and so I have found the same in China which I am looking into. However, Im wondering if I can just get together with a UK engineer to talk through the project with a view to making the machine to my spec.
So, are there any engineers in the forum or maybe someone knows of a firm that can undertake such work?
Hard Disk Data Recovery | 03/10/2014
Can anyone recommend a good company for hard disk recovery? I have a client who has knocked a desktop external drive onto the floor. It will not connect to the PC anymore - just has a horrible death rattle!

Charity Percentage? | 03/10/2014
I recently found out that a charity I have been donating to since I was about 13 only actually gives around 10% of my monthly £10 donation to the cause, I was just wondering if this is a common occurrence among charities and shouldn't there be some form of legal issues preventing businesses doing this? What is your opinion on the subject?
Indian call centres | 03/10/2014
Perhaps I'm being really unfair but I find Indian call centres amongst the most frustrating things in the business world.
Without trying to be racist, I find there is often a huge language barrier. The operators speak good English, but I often get the feeling that they've understood every word but not the sentence. Perhaps the problem is that they seem to only be trained to do things in their script. Anything outside the script, or anything that requires the operator to use his or her...

Online ecommerce? Warning don't go with Quickbooks Uk or Transaction Pro Importer | 03/10/2014
Just a heads up to anyone involved in online retail ....do NOT to go with Quickbooks Pro UK accountancy software &/or the associated Transaction Pro Importer tool (which is a third part add-on I ponied up $199 for!)
Certainly wrt ecommerce, Quickbooks isn't really fit for purpose....in an online e-tail world circa 2014, it doesn't allow sufficient customer records (it maxes out at just 14,500 ...which, in a low margin high volume retail operation is woefully too low...after...
