I am a collaborative CFO who understands both growing small businesses and global financial topics. My very first position as an auditor for Price Waterhouse resulted in me eventually accepting a CFO role with one of my clients, Ciel SA, which is an accounting software editor for small firms at the time recently acquired by The Sage Group. The financial, operational and acquisition activities that I engaged in as CFO transformed this firm from one that was barely breaking even to a firm with a 600% increase in revenue while bringing EBITA margin close to 50%. Sage kept promoting me by making me first CFO of Continental Europe and then CFO of Continental Europe and Asia. I helped acquire over 30 firms from 2002 to 2011 and actively worked to influence Sage’s strategy. I was also significantly involved in the successful integration of acquisitions in over 15 countries. During this time, I launched a very successful project that reduced the cost of financial management and reporting deadlines while at the same time improved the quality of service delivered to general management. All these activities resulted in an increased EBITA ratio from 21% in 2003 to 25% in 2010 and increased revenue 600% from 2003 to 2010. Now I am starting my own business, Basics Finance, offering my expertise to entrepreneurs, SME managers,Venture capital firms and international companies wanting to conduct business in France, in addition to being involved in a business angel group. In these capacities, I will be able to help a number of firms experience the growth that I have been able to provide my previous company…and that’s great news.
