From slapstick reality shows like “Wipeout” to children’s programming without any redeeming values, the state of children’s broadcast television defines the phrase “intellectual wasteland.” Now and again you’ll find shows you’re happy to get your kids hooked on and frequently watch, but many shows that are deemed age-appropriate seem like nothing more than half-hour advertisements for merchandising companies or more suitable for older kids and adults. Luckily, some streaming services can help weed out what you want your kids watch a bit easier. Common streams such as Amazon and Netflix have taken up the challenge. Amazon Amazon is running with the original programming concept this year, producing 14 new pilots that viewers can vote on, ultimately deciding whether they’ll be made into full series. Included in this list are two children’s series. The first, “Sara Solves It,” is created by the producer of “Curious George” and “Arthur,” with writing by a veteran “Blues Clues” staffer.
